Wednesday 23rd October 2013
2:45 for 3pm start

Masum will speak about his experience campaigning for the rights of vulnerable workers and the work that has been done since the tragic building collapse. There will be an opportunity to discuss this critical issue in an Australian context and hear about local efforts to promote supply chain transparency.
Moniruzzaman Masum has significant experience in the union movement both in Bangladesh and overseas. He has established a union for migrant workers in South Korea and is the current Chairperson of the Migrant Workers Solidarity Network Society. Masum was involved in the rescue operation at the Rana Plaza building collapse in April 2013 where 2500 injured workers were rescued and 1129 workers died.
